Sustainable Art

The idea behind my sustainable art project was to make a cat house out of boxes. I used cardboard boxes, string, and a ping pong ball in order to make the structure. I think it came out pretty well, given we didn’t have very many boxes to work with. I think I was able to express my idea fairly well. I don’t think that my choice of materials influenced my experience very much. A kiss doesn’t have a set time on how long it should last, it all falls under different circumstances that depend on other things. A great meal should last until there is no more food. A work of art should last until its name has been defaced. Ideally a marriage should last til death do you part. A human life should last until the person can no longer take care of themselves and when their goals in life have been fulfilled. I don’t think that because things have a finite time we experience them differently, take the Mona Lisa and Leonardo Da Vinci for example, over 500 years ago, the Mona Lisa was painted, and Da Vinci died 500 years ago, but we don’t idolize his work any more than we did 100 years ago. Clean water, air, and land should be sustainable and long lasting. I don’t think one person can make a difference in a global problem that is as big as Climate Change.
