Vlogging

With my vlog I just wanted to take a look at my old running stuff, and talk about it because it was a huge part of my life that lead me to where I am today. I did accomplish my goal, even though it was a small one. Next time, I would probably try to not move the camera as much and be more clear in what I wanted to say. I don’t think I will vlog again, I am not a fan of talking into a camera and seeing myself in a camera. My favorite youtuber right now is probably penguinz0. I would say that he is my favorite youtuber because he seems more authentic than other people on the platform. I could be a little more professional and not stutter and think so much as I’m talking. Authenticity is how genuine someone is, and how real they are. Performance is putting on a show and being a character rather than being oneself. Authenticity and performance are not really opposites, and they can exist together. You can still put on a show and be yourself, and the way that you are playing a character, some of your own personality can shine through the act. I think that both of the clips you showed of Jennifer Anistion and Jimmy Kimmel are the same amount of performative and authentic. I believe this because they both know that a large crowd is watching them, just not in front of a crowd.
