Mahsa Soroudi is a college graduate that specialized in visual communication. She has been to many different Asian countries to learn their respective cultures. She would love to go and look at all of the different local exhibits and works of many local artist if she could find the time to do it. She is very passionate about trying to give smaller artists the exposure that they deserve.

I like this photo because it reminds me of the cabin that my grandparents used to own when I was younger. I love the many different colors of fall in the foreground and the blue sky and mountain range in the background. The black lines look like blinds that cover a window overlooking this view. I really like the warm colors that she captured in this shot.

Her story and ideas about moving from one part of the world to a completely foreign country to better herself and her family is brave and scary. Exploring and learning new parts of the world are fun and exciting and also scary and intimidating. I believe that she is trying to send the message that if you stay strong and know who you are, you can do anything and go anywhere.

Her Nature’s Cadence project and the meaning behind it are very interesting and understandable to me. When I moved into the dorms last year, I felt isolated and had no idea where I was or what was around me in the world. I tried to learn my surroundings as quickly as possible, and I also bought myself a hummingbird feeder to place outside my window because hummingbirds are an important symbol in my family. Tending to the hummingbird feeder made me feel more at home and more relaxed in the dorms because it made me feel like I was at home and with my family.
